Today will mark a historic day in Pakistani cricket, as two of the strongest teams of the league will compete with each other for the winning trophy. Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed is hopeful to maintain the same high standard that the team has set up, in order to bag the winning title.

“We are playing the final for the third time, so we will put in our all-out effort to play in the same manner which we have done in the whole tournament,” he said in a recent press conference.

This time around, the team has Shane Watson on their side, and Ahmed considers it their strong suit, despite having a strong opponent.

“We are at our full strength this time, and obviously, winning the trophy is every captain’s wish. We have always come close, but were unable to win the trophy. This time, we will do our best, though we have a strong team against us,” he said.

The player was also asked if he would like to see the top leagues of the cricket world (like IPL, BPL, Big Bash) competing against each other, and the captain was in full favour of the idea.

“Absolutely. PSL is one of the best leagues, and there should be no doubt about the quality of cricket that Pakistan offers. Barely anyone else possesses the kind of bowling quality we have. Of course, there should be a tournament as such, where the top teams of every league get to compete with each other. People will get to experience top-quality cricket,” he said.

Moving on, the player also joked about not being able to get a hold of the tickets. “It’s been two days since I’ve asked for tickets, much to no use, and now even the board members are ignoring my calls,” he laughed, while putting out a humble request for people to lie low on asking for tickets.
