In a press meeting following his epic performance in the match against Multan Sultans, Shane Watson was inquired about coming to Pakistan for the remainder of the PSL franchise. The player appeared hesitant while trying to form a response.

“I am still talking with my family and the people I need to [for the visit]. So, I am still not exactly sure what decision I am going to make right now,” he said, while adding how his main focus is being able to play for the team currently. “Hopefully we can continue on the form we’ve shown, and I can contribute some more runs,” he added.

Speaking about what does the trick for him in terms of a great performance, the player stressed upon sheer luck and his abundance of experience. “You always need a little bit of luck going your way, and in the last couple of innings, a few things have gone my way at certain times,” he said. “When it comes to skill, I know I am 37 now but it means that I’ve got a lot of experience under the belt. Hopefully I can be consistent with it,” he added.

Moreover, the player lauded his team members for their contribution to the win. “We’ve got a lot of match winners, and Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine are to come in at some stage,” he said. As evident by the first three games, Watson feels their batting sector is strong as well. “We’ve got Umar Akmal, and Riley Rossouw is batting really well, too,” he added.

Interestingly, Watson also expressed his delight over playing against Shahid Afridi. “He’s someone who I have always absolutely loved playing against. So, to continue to play against someone like him is very special,” he said.
