SHC takes back its decision to ban TikTok in Pakistan

Sindh High Court (SHC) has taken back its decision to ban the Chinese video-sharing app TikTok in Pakistan.

According to the latest update, SHC took back its decision to ban TikTok while hearing an appeal from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). SHC directed PTA to solve the reservations of a complainant against TikTok by July 5.

SHC directed PTA to ban TikTok on June 28 after the online video sharing app celebrated ‘LGBT Month’. Later on, the app removed almost 6.5 million videos violating policies in Pakistan.

Earlier, TikTok was banned twice in Pakistan over vulgar content. Both times, the ban was lifted after TikTok management assured to control immoral content on the app.
