Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry has taken a step forward to invite Facebook and Google to open offices in Pakistan.

Speaking to BBC’s renowned talk show ‘Hard Talk’, the Federal Minister stressed the need for Google, Facebook, and other techno companies offices in the country.

“I think there is a huge gap of communication between Pakistan and apps like Google, Facebook, and others. Pakistan has a huge number of users of these apps,” he highlighted.

“Google and Facebook, in fact, all other techno companies should come and open their offices in Pakistan. It will help them increase their business here and automatically our people will be benefitted more from it,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that big social media apps like Facebook, YouTube, and Google don’t have offices in Pakistan. It leads to a lack of communication between Pakistanis and these apps. A lot of people in the country are earning through YouTube, Facebook, and Google but they often find no in-person representation of these companies here.
