Ever since the list of nominations for Lux Style Awards 2019 sprouted, there have been ample controversies surrounding it. We saw Mohsin Abbas Haider questioning why his critically acclaimed drama serial Meri Guriya failed to bag a spot, as well as Abdullah Seja calling out the team for ignoring Koi Chand Rakh in the Best OST category.
Moreover, even model Eman Suleman chose to give up her nomination in the Best Emerging Talent category, expressing how she did not want to share the platform with an alleged harasser, Ali Zafar. On a broader scale, the nominations proved to be gratifying for most who were part of it, while some were left wanting for more.
Amidst all the frictions, there were many celebrities and prominent figures who were nothing but over-joyous over the list. Despite not getting a nomination himself, actor Humayun Saeed took to twitter to congratulate fellow co-star Ahmad Ali Butt for his Best Actor nomination for Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2. Saeed went on to share how he did not find anything wrong with the nominations, and that Butt fully deserved the spot.
Congratulations meray motoo! Some people are questioning why I wasn’t nominated but I don’t find anything wrong with the LSA nominations. As far as JPNA2 is concerned, no one else deserved the Best Actor nomination other than Ahmad. I hope you go on to win it! @ahmedaliB pic.twitter.com/aTR2nogvde

Interestingly, Butt replied in his typical witty manner, saying he loved Saeed the way Mehwish Hayat’s character loved him in the film Punjab Nahi Jaungi.

Likewise, even singer Shuja Haider congratulated Nehaal Naseem for her nomination in the Best Emerging Talent category. The singer himself bagged a spot in the Best Playback Singer category, and was still highly appreciative of upcoming young talent.
Actor Imran Ashraf, who has been winning hearts with his performance as Bhola in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, took to Instagram to congratulate all the actors who got nominated in the Best TV Actor category, lauding the talent of each.
On a side note, filmmaker and musician Yasir Jaswal tried to bring everyone’s attention to the fact that despite being a great platform, it is just an award and people shouldn’t be getting worked up over it.
After Seeing all the statuses put up for or against the LSA I simply don’t get why people are getting so worked up…
Similarly, even actress Ramsha Khan pointed out how the real prize for the actors is the appreciation they get from the audience, and that the likes of Faysal Qureshi and Ayeza Khan should not feel disheartened over not getting nominated.
Several points were made by mentioning how LSA just disregarded all claims of nepotism by not selecting two of their LUX Girls, Mahira Khan and Maya Ali, for any of the nominations.
These examples just prove that the LUX Style Awards are more than just controversies, with several celebrities striving to keep the positivity intact in the midst of all the gloom and doom.
