Prayers pour in for Shahid Afridi after being tested COVID-19 positive

Former cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi has become one of the high-profile people in Pakistan who have recently tested positive for COVID-19.

The cricketer-turned-philanthropist took to Twitter on Saturday to reveal that he was suffering through a widely-spread virus.

“I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday, my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately, I’m COVID-19 positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah,” he wrote.

The Tweet went on top of the headlines and people dropped prayers and wishes in numbers.

His former teammates, current cricketers, and people from different walks of life also dropped best wishes.

It must be noted here that Afridi was busy in ration drives across Pakistan amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Under the banner of the ‘Shahid Afridi Foundation’, the former cricketer visited remote areas to help people in need during the current tough time.
