Supreme Court accepts Meesha’s appeal in Ali Zafar Harassment Case

Supreme Court of Pakistan has granted leave in Meesha Shafi-Ali Zafar Harassment case and to listen to Meesha on legal grounds.

Apex Court’s three-judge bench headed by Justice Mushir Alam accepted Meesha’s appeal against Lahore High Court (LHC)’s the decision which declared her and eight others guilty of defaming the male singer-actor for harassment.

The notices were served to respondents Ali and Advocate General Punjab. Remember, the Governor of Punjab rejected Meesha’s appeal against the Provincial ombudsperson’s decision which dismissed her case on technical grounds, stating that ‘Shafi and Zafar did not have an employer-employee relationship, the case could not be heard [in that forum]’.

It must be noted here that Meesha, on April 19, 2018, Meesha accused Ali of harassing her during a project. The singer filed an FIR against Teefa In Trouble actor. In November 2018, Ali rejected all the allegations and claimed that a number of fake accounts are involved in running the #MeToo campaign against him on different social platforms.
